SI Legal Services Limited is fully committed to protecting your privacy. We recognise the importance of treating your personal information with respect and care, in addition to our legal and statutory obligations. We will only use personal information as set out in this Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect and use your personal data and which rights and options you have.

What personal data do we collect?

The personal data we collect from you may include your personal details including your name, address, contact details and your work. We also require payment date from you at times to process payments and for money laundering and fraud purposes. This would include your credit card details and security codes.

How is this personal data collected?

We can collect personal data about you in person when you attend with us. When you seek advice over the telephone and if you make an enquiry via our website.

How will we use this personal data?

We may use your personal data when providing you with advice, during the management and processing of your case, including making payments and billing and in the compliance of our legal obligations to the SRA and Law Society and further to any court orders.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We may from time to time share your personal data with third parties who will be assisting on your case and will include barristers, experts and the courts. We may also have to share your personal data with the Legal Aid Agency and all other law enforcement authorities. We will not otherwise share you date without your express consent.

Keeping personal data about you secure

We will take all necessary steps to keep your personal data confidential and secure in accordance the General Data Protection Regulation. Personal Data may be held on a paper file, and/or on our case management system.

Updating personal data about you

If you wish to change any personal data we hold for you, please let us know by sending an email to info@silegalservices.co.uk. We will not be responsible for any losses arising from any inaccurate, false, deficient or incomplete personal data that you provide to us.

For how long do we retain your personal data?

SI Legal Services Limited will retain your personal data pursuant to Rule 10 of the SRA Handbook.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify or erase your data which we hold, subject to us being compliant with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Aid Agency (where appropriate). You also have the right to restrict processing; data portability; to object and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling.

You are entitled to make a subject access request for the personal data we hold of yours.

SI Legal Services will not transfer, store or process the data we collect from you at places outside the European Union.

Complaints Procedure

We want to give you the best possible service. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we provided then you should inform us immediately, so that we can do our best to resolve the problem.

In the first instance it may be helpful to contact the person who is working on your case to discuss your concerns and we will do our best to resolve any issues at this stage.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help you if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic.

You can raise your concerns with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

What do to if we cannot resolve your complaint

he Legal Ombudsman can help you if we are unable to resolve your complaint ourselves. They will look at your complaint independently and it will not affect how we handle your case.

Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with us first. If you have, then you must take your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman:
